Sorry for absence, I've been caught up with wedding planning but earlier this month my city had an anime convention. Since it was so close to home I couldn't pass up the opportunity to dress up! I was sad to see there weren't any lolita panels so I took the initiative and hosted a few myself. Even though I am painfully shy it was so worth it! I got to meet out of state lolitas and new local lolitas too.
I even hosted a small lolita fashion show and dressed up some models in my clothing. Everything went better than expected and all the girls were so lovely, I like to thank them for working together so wonderfully! I had a lot of fun despite the nervousness of talking in front of a crowd and it seems all the girls did too.
It's funny, I didn't have enough petticoats so I had to rig together a few hoop skirts out of ribbon, tape and poly-tubing. It worked pretty well, each one was specially sized for the specific skirt to give the correct shape and I had to use my dress form to get the shape just right.
Although it was stressful putting together the fashion show, I think I had about 2-3 weeks to get it together, I was really proud of what I made. I'd love to run it again next year if given the opportunity.
Just came back from Sukoshicon Destination Anime day 1. Even though it's a small convention and their first year at the Destin location I had a lot of fun today. I was so surprised at the general level of cosplay here. Everyone looks great! There were so many good cosplays today and it was awesome to see everyone all at once posing for pictures. I decided to wear lolita today and here are a few outfit shots:

Tomorrow is the Japanese Fashion Show and I'm a little nervous since I'll be one of the models. Hopefully I'll do well, wish me luck!
